Le Spa Orla: Creating imagery for a slower kind of wellness
There’s something beautiful about a business that is created from a very personal need.
Le Spa Orla was born from founder Gracy’s desire to slow down, take better care of herself and create more space for wellbeing in everyday life. Like so many of us, the experience of COVID prompted her to rethink how she wanted to spend her time — and how she could create a space that encouraged others to do the same.
Located in Campsie, Sydney, Le Spa Orla is a refined, appointment-only boutique spa centred around slow, personalised treatments and beautiful hospitality.
And when I photographed the space, that sense of calm was exactly what I wanted the images to capture.
A different kind of wellness photography
Wellness branding photography doesn’t always need to be about smiling at the camera or perfectly staged treatment shots.
For me, the most interesting images are often the ones that communicate how a place feels.
The textures.
The light.
The quiet moments.
The details someone has thoughtfully chosen.
The way a treatment begins.
The warmth of being welcomed into a space.
At Le Spa Orla, there is a real emphasis on slowing down and creating a more considered experience for clients. So rather than simply documenting the treatments, I wanted to create a visual story around the entire experience.
From the beautiful interiors and carefully considered details, to Gracy herself and the hands-on, personalised nature of the treatments.
The result is a collection of imagery that feels calm, warm and inviting — imagery that gives potential clients a sense of what it might actually be like to walk through the doors.
Photographing the person behind the business
One of my favourite parts of branding photography is getting to know the person behind the business.
Because ultimately, people connect with people.
Gracy is such an important part of the Le Spa Orla experience, and I wanted the photographs to reflect her personality and the care she brings to the business without making the session feel overly posed or corporate.
We photographed her working, interacting with the space and doing what she does naturally, alongside more considered portraits.
These are the kinds of images that can be used across a website, social media, marketing campaigns and press — giving a business a consistent visual identity while still feeling completely authentic.
Creating a visual world for your brand
For a business like Le Spa Orla, the environment is part of the brand.
The colours, textures, architecture, treatment rooms, products and little details all contribute to the experience.
That’s why I love combining branding photography with interiors and lifestyle imagery. Together, they create a much richer picture of a business than a collection of headshots ever could.
The goal isn't simply to show people what your business looks like.
It’s to make them feel something before they even arrive.
And for a wellness business, that feeling might be calm. Trust. Warmth. Connection. A sense that you can finally exhale.
Wellness branding photography in Sydney
I work with women-led businesses, wellness practitioners, creatives and small businesses across Sydney to create natural, creative and candid imagery that feels like an authentic extension of their brand.
Whether you’re launching a new business, refreshing your website or simply feeling like your existing photographs no longer represent where your business is now, a branding session can give you a whole new library of imagery to work with.
For me, the best branding photographs don't feel like branding photographs.
They feel like you.
And that’s always the aim.
