what is the body project?

The Body Project is an immersive experience for those wishing to push beyond their comfortable zone and be vulnerable and brave within a small, supportive group environment. Surrounded by like minded women, you will engage in discussions and creative activities facilitated and supported by Arts Psychoanalyst and Body Image specialist Lana Sussman, while being photographed nude, one by one by photographer Martine Payne.

"Taking part in The Body Project was a totally unique and empowering experience. What made it so special was sharing it with a group of amazing women. From the moment we walked into the studio there was this immediate sense of openness and connection.

The experience was so profound, it almost didn’t matter what the photos would look like. But then you do see the images, and they are breathtaking. Martine captures something beyond the surface. Each frame is a reminder that we, in all our softness, strength, and imperfection, are art.
